Hello all,
As you know disk defragmenting has been going on all this week, and its finally finished. Has anyone noticed an increase in speed on the forum or FTP? Please answer the poll above

neither are faster.
- Forum was always fast - FTP is still at 1mb/s at max here.
Both are the same as before the defrag.

Also during the defrag when it has heavily defragmenting , my sub-domain was always throwing error 500, when the server was so slow also in this forum throw error 500 almost all the time.

The forum was at least 4x slower than it is now while defragmenting. What is the load time per page? I get 1-2 seconds max here now, where as before it was often 2-4 seconds.

Forum is faster for me I think but only by 0.somthing of a second it feels the slightest bit snappier if you know what I mean. Comparing before to after defrag.

Keep in mind that a lot of us are overseas in the US, so the speed of both will vary due to lots of variables in the mix.
Just wondering - what defragger did you use? Standard Windows defragger, or something that offers the ability to sort the files based on last access/other options?

I used PerfectDisk10 which does sort the files in a smart way for best performance. The program says drive access performance is up by 60% since the start of the defrag, so we'll see.
