forgotten*. Sorry, OCD
PS is there anyway to use more than one connection when downloading a file from the FTP? I'm using a dodgy connection atm and I can move more data w/ 2 connections at once..

I'll correct the typo.
You can only use more than one connection if the client supports it. I don't actually know of any that will allow you to do it and that also supports SSL connections. If you find one please do let me know.

Better to note that 4 connections is actually 3 simultaneous downloads and 1 control session. (At least here, 4 connections in Filezilla will only allow 3 before ''No more connections from your IP'').

You can of course always shut down the control session and let it run on four download sessions instead. Some FTP clients even set their connection limits based on if you got a control session connected or not, as soon as you disconnect it opens up a final download connection etc. Dunno if Filezilla does it, I don't use the client myself.

Dynamic IPs aren't really a problem if you modem is always on I think.
I'm not sure, but I thought that once or twice a day the network checks for all IPs that were handed out if the particular modem is still connected. If it ins't then the IP is put in the "free-ip" list, otherwise it just stays connected to that modem. If a modem is reconnected it gets a random ip from the free-ip list. So as long as your modem is connected to the network during the resets it's all fine.
For those who do turn off their modems over night: buy this and find out when your isp does the reset.
OR you can of course just click the ip-lock button.
