Due to someone on BetaArchive repeatedly leaking our members private FTP account I've turned off the download account. It will be reactivated some time in the future (perhaps).

By breaking our rules and leaking our internal details you've sabotaged for everyone else. Are you proud now?

Anyone leaking our internal information will be instantly banned and never allowed back onto the site again. And we will find out who you are.

Andy and I will decide when to turn it on again. Do not bother with asking us when this happens.

Nothing is killed here people, it's offline for now. We are still trying to find better solutions for handling the collection. Members will gain access to the collection in due time.

Isn't a system like a password per member possible, or even an username and password per member? Would help tracking and these kind of things wouldn't happen again.

It's already been discussed, and at the time being it's too much to manage. We can't manually handle every members account on the site. And there's no way to automate it while keeping security.

PM me if anyone has any good ideas that can be realised (i.e no theories or science fiction).

The person who posted the details (I saw it too) never leaked the build. He's bragging about it when someone else did.

I didn't understand well but if you are asking if it's back online, no the account is disabled and there is no way to connect.

As for the 7927 leak, hope that someone already has it and upload it to a free file host or make a torrent.

It won't be online till MrPijey and Andy decide to bring it back up. The main problem I have with it being down is not actually Windows 8 but OS/2.

Got a lot of suggestions (some good, some pretty hard to implement), thanks. The server will be offline for the time being until things cool down. Don't worry tho, members will get their share of betas soon enough.

And to the leaker: you have not accomplished anything today, except that we have yet an another idiot that thinks he can abuse this site. Remember that this site runs for free, but costs us (me and Andy, and our donators) a lot of money, which is why we don't allow anyone access. I am already investigating your IP and other forum profiles, so we'll get you eventually. And if you want to come clean then PM me and we'll have a little chat...

Andy and I will have a thorough discussion on how to handle this in the future, and see if we can come up with a better solution for our members.

Unfortunately I've seen some BA members already lashing out on various forums etc, I ask you to not do that. Andy and I will deal with the person ourselves, and we don't need angry members lashing out onto other forums, it's quite unprofessional and doesn't help us a bit. Remember, it's easy to fake usernames and account on the net so what seems to be obvious may not be.

To All: IIRC Isn't BetaArchive FTP a privilege? Doesn't that mean that you don't have the right to just hand the details out whilly nilly? That just because you have access doesn't mean you can dis-obey the very clear and distinct rules regarding it?

To anyone complaining on other forums: I don't think a privilege guarantees the rights to argue about it as thus your names were mrpijey or Andy. Apologies if I'm backseat moderating. I'm just saying it as I see it.
