It took us about 6 months to reach 4TB!

With the recent Windows 8/Server 2012 RC release our archive smashed through the 4TB barrier!

Congrats to BetaArchive and thanks to all you members for providing us with all these releases!

Congratulations on that. I remember when the FTP hit 2TB, that wasn't too far away, at least if I remember correctly. Also, statistics, yay! The site's growth should be exponential, shouldn't it? That would pose some interesting questions...

Anyway, anything since Windows Vista/Longhorn Server Beta 1 is going to be quite large, so (especially given the number of more modern Windows releases lately) this to me is no surprise.

Congratulations! So 4TB, I've only got a 1TB external drive (of which ~30GB free), so I literally could not download everything in your archives!

Although personally I still find 4TB looks a lot more than 4058.52GB. Even though its 1 digit instead of 5, terabyte looks so much more impressive than gigabyte these days. Still waiting for 1PB, that will be truly amazing. Anyone want to guess when Betaarchive gets to 1petabyte? Maybe 20-30years? Or will there be a sudden surge in hard drive size in 201x?

2 drives in the BA server. Not sure how many in the other as mrpijey manages it.

Whoa! That's cool. My external HDD is only 1 TB yet. And in my download queue I have 560 GB for now, though my HDD has only 200 GB left.
I can't keep myself from downloading stuff from here though I'm running outta' space!

EDIT: Wait. It says 4070 GB. Isn't 4 TB technically 4096 GB?

The units in this area are messed up - some use GB, others use GiB. Some say 1GB is 1000MB, others say it's 1024MB...

I always thought 1GB is 1024mb. Although 1000mb would make more since, I thought it was something to do with computers (like: 16, 36, 64, 128...)

Computer use binary (or base-2), not decimal (base-10), hence 1024...
